Starday SLP-315 monoraul 12" LP record album. 1976 re-issue of 1965 release. Condition: Record is VG++. Cover is VG++. Tracks: Glory Hallelujah Now I'm Satisfied/White Dove/Didn't They Crucify My Lord/Why Do You Weep Dear Willow/Church In The Valley/Someone's Praying For Me//He'll Set Your Fields On Fire/Listen To Your Radio/Old Country Preacher/Shake My Mother's Hand For Me/Distant Land To Roam/When I Take My Vacation In Heaven Comments: This LP was personally sent to a disc jockey in Maine by Carl Story. Inside the album jacket is a handwritten letter reading, "Hi, My good friend Howard Volces ask me to send some of my records. Hope you can use them and do keep in touch with me please. Hope we can come up some time in your area. Carl Story." Biography: Carl Story (May 29, 1916 - March 31, 1995) was an influential bluegrass musician and leader of his band the "Rambling Mountaineers". He was dubbed "The Father of Bluegrass Gospel Music" by the governor of Oklahoma. In 1947, he recorded for the Mercury label. During the 1950s, Carl Story's "Rambling Mountaineers" performed on the "Farm and Fun Time Show" at WCYB in Bristol, Virginia and on the "Cas Walker Show" over WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. His "Mountaineers" also appeared on radio stations WAYS in Charlotte, North Carolina, WEAS in Decatur, Georgia, and WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina. He had a new recording contract on Columbia Records in 1953. Two years later he was back to Mercury Records. In 1957, he switched label to Starday Records where he stayed for eighteen years. Story toured extensively throughout the USA and Europe.
