Item description

STREAMLINES by Christopher Morley Doubleday, Doran Co., 1936 Signed copy of early printing Condition: Very Good- in Fair dj Morley was a prominent American literary figure from the 'teens through the '40s, best-known for such novels as PARNASSUS ON WHEELS, THE HAUNTED BOOKSHOP and KITTY FOYLE. He was also a noted essayist, as evidenced in this book of literary essays with titles like "Was Sherlock Holmes an American?" and "Eumedites of Book Collecting". There are also seven full-page illustrations. The title is out of print. This copy is signed (and dated "1940") by the author, so scarce as such. (There is also a gift inscription on the ffep.) Tear in front gutter, somewhat bent cover corners, some edge staining, some foxing. Chipped, torn and taped jacket, which is now protected in a plastic cover.
