The center depicts a white U.S. para wing. These were only worn by the West German Airborne troops that qualified with U.S. Special Forces to earn U.S. Jump Wings. U.S. Special Forces from Bad Tolz Germany frequently conducted Airborne operations with the German Airborne troops in Altenstadt, Germany. Altenstadt is no longer the home of German Airborne, and Bad Tolz has since closed its doors to the U.S. Special Forces which moved to Panzer Kaserne.
