Item description

George R. Frysinger, editor of The Lewistown Gazette, compiled a series of newspaper articles published under the title Mifflin County in War Times, A Local History of Events During the Civil War. The history consisted of a total of sixty-four "papers" printed weekly. This compilation is George Frysinger's list! There has been no attempt to add or delete from the list except when it was found that a name that was in the original "paper" had been omitted from the summary. Obvious typographical errors were corrected. This final publication has two listings. The first listing is that as it was copied from the 1905 newspapers. The second listing was done by George and Margaret Stanley who put the information in their computer and provided the alphabetized list which is needed for research.
