Vintage brooch with a prong-set Spanish-style oval damascene insert. The brooch insert features a renaissance bird motif against a black metal background. The measures 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) by 1 1/8" (2.9 cm). The pin is secured with a trombone or push-pull safety clasp. The trombone clasp was used mainly by European manufacturers with limited production after the mid-20th century.
