Item description
• This exotic Duamutef Small Canopic Jar measures approximately 5.75"Tall and 3" in Diameter. It weighs about 12 ounces.
• This exotic Duamutef Small Canopic Jar is made of composite resin mixed with bronze powder, hand painted and polished individually.
• Ancient Egyptians used canopic jars to store internal organs during the mummification process, but you can put other things in them too that is less 'dark'. This particular small canopic jar makes perfect container for some candies, treats, as an urn for small pets and other knick knacks you can think of.
• Duamutef, the jackal-headed god representing the east is one of the four sons of horus. The name Duamutef means "He who adores his mother". In war, the most frequent cause of death was from injuries in the torso and stomach. The deity protecting this organ was associated with death by war and gained the name Duamutef, meaning "adoring his motherland".
