This most likely had a lid to it, however, the lid is no longer present. The label on bottom (shaped like an old wax seal) reads ?Marton Alajos? then two words I cannot make out (?CS Udvari? perhaps) followed by the word ?Szallito?. And at the very bottom, it reads ?Budapest.? It also has the number 91 (or 16?) etched on bottom - could be the year produced. Appears to be an early 1900s or late 1800s Galle signature.
