The 'Fino de Jete' cherimoya is a highly esteemed cultivar, particularly prominent in Spain's Granada and Malaga provinces, where it holds a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status. Renowned for its exceptional flavor, this variety is often considered one of the finest cherimoyas available.
The fruit boasts a creamy, custard-like texture with a sweet, rich taste complemented by subtle tropical notes such as pineapple, banana, and strawberry. It also exhibits a slight acidity, enhancing its complex flavor profile.
'Fino de Jete' cherimoyas are typically medium to large, heart-shaped or rounded, with light green skin that is smooth or slightly indented.
The trees grow to about 15?20 feet tall and thrive in full sun with well-drained, slightly acidic soil (pH 5.0?6.0). They are suitable for USDA zones 9?11 and can tolerate temperatures down to 25?32F.
Plants are grafted in liner tubes. Tubes are 9" and the plant itself is approx 12"-16"+ tall.
