This French provincial style dresser is usually called a High Boy. It is possibly from the 1920’s or 1930’s, perhaps earlier. Studying closely, it appears that this piece might be hand made Often they are used as storage for clothing or linens. (Or crafts!) Notice the beautiful carvings along the edges perimeter of the sections. Also please see the piping around the sections. The unit is all wood, possibly mahogany or walnut. There is absolutely no particle board or MDF. The drawers are dovetailed front and rear. They might be hand-cut. The drawer sections in the body of the piece are fully enclosed with wood bottoms. The drawers slide on custom fitted wood rails and receivers. Two drawers have solid wood dividers for convenient storing of clothing or accessories. The handles are solid brass.
