Item description

Frontier Style Handmade Genuine Leather Book For Notes, Sketches Or Diary--- It was made by one of the arts and crafts exhibitors. When I first touched it I had images of Kevin Costner portraying Lieutenant John J. Dunbar in Costner's movie "Dances With Wolves." Dunbar, left alone at an Army outpost in Wyoming or some other western state. kept such a book with him in which he made notes and sketches of the terrain. The book is skillfully crafted. The pages are stiff more like carboard than paper. There are about 120 pages in total. It is bound not by sewing or pasting but by tying tying 5 separate sections of boards together and holding them in place with stranges of leather. It measures about 7 inches long, 1-3/4 inches
