What a cool find! Purchased at a recent estate sale in very German St Louis, MO. Based on maker?s hallmarks we know it was made by Gebrüder Kühn after 1886 and likely before 1953 when factory was sold outside of family. Still operating today under a similar name (Gebr Kühn). This fruit bowl was originally gold washed to preserve the underlying metal from the acidity of fruit. Over time some of the gold wash has worn off but the bowl itself is in really nice shape. Bowl stands just over 5.5 inches in height with three of those inches dedicated to the wonderful footings. Bowl is 2.5 inches deep and approximately 7.75 inches across. It weighs a whopping 447 grams (14.395 ounces Troy). Wonderful addition to any dining table for holidays or special engagement. Will ship USPS with tracking to winning buyer.
