Nice condition for the age, no apparent damage. There is only the lightest wear, the man's hat has a touch of it. There are a few small spots that could stand more detailed cleaning with a q-tip. Estimated to be 19th century German manufacture although there are no identifying markings. I have not touched up anything and doesn't look like anyone else did either. Very attractive complementary colors. About 4 3/4" tall our hopeful suitor serenades the object of his affection by playing a lute and presumably voicing some soft romantic passages.
