Item description

I, JAMES LEWIS by Gilbert W. Gabriel Garden City, New York: Doubleday, Doran Company, Inc., 1935. Early reprint. A fine, fresh copy in black cloth with titles stamped on bright gold panels; in a near fine, illustrated dust jacket with minor edge wear. A story of a fur-trapping expedition from New York to the Oregon territory organized with the assistance of sinister John Jacob Astor. Adapted to the entertaining 1941 film "The Woman is Mine" starring Franchot Tone, Walter Brennan, John Carroll, Carol Bruce, Nigel Bruce, and Sig Ruman as Astor. An excellent vintage edition of this well-received novel that drew favorable reviews from many critics upon publication. PLEASE VIEW OUR STORE FOR MORE GREAT FIRST EDITION BOOKS THANKS!
