Item description

This painting has been in my collection a long time. I have studied for years trying to determine its meaning and find the name of the artist, but to no avail. I have always felt it had something to do with remembrance of the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki- the broken teapot, the sad faces, the Japanese scroll, all deliver a feeling of horror, grief, and remorse. It is exquisitely executed, and I have admired it for over thirty years. Now I pass it along to someone else who may discover its meaning. Obviously, the subject matter is poignant and perhaps not for everyone, but for those who want to experience all of life, it holds a mysterious promise. Oil on canvas, February 1962, signed K.M. and dated low center. 18" x 21". Outside frame dimensions are23" x 26". FREE SHIPPING!
