Brass Relief Tumi from Arequipa Peru The Tumi is a ceremonial knife. When held by hand it was used by the Incas to cut the scalp, trephine the skull and drain the evil spirits. Many healed from blood clots or infections The Tumi is also the logo of the Peruvian American Medical Society PAMS in the USA. Has Arequipa Peru stamped under the image Pre Columbian era Solid brass mounted on Sillar, which is natural volcanic stone carved from the skirts of the volcano El Misti Has hanging mount at top This is heavy Overall size is almost 11" height x 6 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" depth Some damage: There is a chip off the nose Corner of base has a chip at two corners on the back
