In fast forward Flight the paddles remain level and true until you move the sticks. They also deliver additional quickness making them ideal for aggressive 3D maneuvers. The added stability actually helps during 3D maneuvers as the helicopter only does what you want it to and you don't have to fight it during difficult 3D maneuvers.
