Item description

? Up for sale 1 rooted starter plant of Laxton's #1 Red Currant rooted cutting/plant is about 6-12 inches tall. Shipped with roots wrapped in wet media, dormant (October through April), potted up in plastic container during vegetation (April-September). Hardy zones 4-8 ? Laxton No.1 is a traditional old variety that's very widely grown. Produces a heavy crop of excellent quality fruits which are borne in long bunches, perfect for easy picking. The attractive, glossy currants are bright red in colour and very flavoursome, ideal for summer puddings, Redcurrant jams, wine-making and freezing. ? Plant in a sheltered site, out of strong winds and frost. They do best in full sun, but will thrive in partial shade. Plant in any soil type, as long as it's well-drained. If you would like to eat the berries yourself, make sure you protect the bush from birds. ? Your order will arrive in good condition; if any issues occur with the item while it is on the way to you, contact us the very same day with describing the issue and attach pictures of the issue so we can see it.
