The first Martineau mystery was adapted to the 1960 film 'Hell Is A City' starring Stanley Baker, Joan Crawford, and Donald Pleasence. Corners bumped, else near fine in polished taupe textured boards with black titles to the spine, cream headband and tail-band; in a very good dust jacket with a banner of slight age-toning to the upper rear panel, tiny chips to the upper spine edge, and creasing to the lower front panel corner; original printed Book Club Edition still intact to the front inner flap.
