Mayan Mexican Tribal Warrior Mask Painted Ceramic DESCRIPTION Body Dimensions in inches: 5 1/2 Tall x 4 3/4 Wide x 11/32 Thick Back: Glazed but with no color except the color of the clay. Color: Black, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple, White. Signature: None Design: Mayan Imagery. Material: Red Clay Technique: Appears to be made into a ball, then flattened into a mold for the face, hand painted, and kiln fired. Condition: Used in Good Condition. No cracks, fleabites, scratches, repairs. The paint has worn off a bit on the purple cheekbones and the right black eyebrow. These could easily be repaired with some shiny craft paint from a craft store. There appears to be some early crazing going on in the shiny coating on the front. And the back has some pen impressions where it looked like someone laid paper over it and tested their ball point pen. There is no ink in the impressions. This is a delightful Mayan Mexican Tribal Warrior Mask. It is a colorful piece sporting hues of Green, Black, Orange, Yellow, White, and Purple. The front is covered in designs and facial features decorate the center. The eyes and mouth are cut out and can be seen through. There are two holes in the top of the headress that can be used to string a cord through for hanging on a wall. The design on the far left that looks like an eye with horizontal lines under it, does not appear on the right side and is left blank in that area. There are also lines on the neck of the left bird which do not appear on the right bird. These are manufacturing flaws which do not take away from the colorful beauty of this piece.
