Item description

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) Seed Details: Quantity: Varies Type: Heirloom, Non-GMO, American Grown Seeds Lifespan: Perennial USDA Zones: 3 - 8 Description: Meadowsweet, also known as Meadwort or Bridewort, is a beautiful perennial that graces damp meadows with its clusters of tiny, creamy-white flowers from early summer to early autumn. Known as "Queen of the Meadow," it was used historically for celebrations and weddings and is valued in herbalism for its salicylic acid content. In folklore, meadowsweet symbolizes love, peace, and happiness. Growing Instructions: Surface Sow: Sow seeds on the surface of soil, allowing light to aid germination. Scatter 2-3 seeds with about 1 inch of space between each. Moisture Light: Cover lightly with perlite to hold moisture while allowing light to reach seeds. Mist gently to settle the perlite. Temperature Watering: Place pots in a bright, sheltered location. Keep soil moist but avoid overwatering. Seeds will sprout in approximately 3 months at 70F. Transplanting: Thin to the strongest seedling per pot for healthy root growth. Transition plants to light shade with deep watering, and slowly acclimate to full sun in autumn. Planting Site: Meadowsweet thrives in moist, mildly alkaline soil. Add limestone to raise pH if soil is highly acidic.
