The perennial purple leaf tree collard cutting is around 6-8 inches long with 4+ leaf nodes. This tree collard can grow in USDA zones 7-10 and can grow up to 6 feet tall.
Leaves can be harvested from purple tree collard plants year-round. They are especially tasty when picked during cold weather, when the leaves have more healthy purple color.
To root the cutting, bury the lower half of the cutting into a pot with potting soil. Please keep the soil moist, either in an outdoor shady area or indoor if the outside temperature is too low. The new shoots and roots will start to grow after a few weeks.
To speed up the rooting, you can apply rooting hormone. After the new leaf sprouts are growing well, the rooted plant can be transplanted into your garden.
Because these are living things and their success is dependent by several variables, we make NO GUARANTEE that every cutting will strike roots. Most will, but NO GUARANTEE, NO REFUNDS and NO REPLACEMENTS. If you want to be sure to have a viable plant in 4-6 weeks, use a rooting hormone.
