Polymem Adhesive Foam Dressing Film Originally designed for the needs of sensitive and painful burn wounds, PolyMem dressings are thin polyurethane foam membrane dressings containing a non-toxic cleanser (F68 Surfactant) and a moisturiser (glycerol), with a semi-permeable film backing. PolyMem Adhesive dressings are available in a variety of shapes and sizes including ovals and a sacral shape. Each consists of an island of standard PolyMem dressing with a film backing that extends to provide an adhesive (acrylic medical adhesive) border around each edge. PolyMem dressings are non-adherent 1 and help to cleanse the wound whilst in place to minimise procedural pain. The unique properties of a PolyMem dressing also help to reduce inflammation, promoting comfort and pain reduction while the dressing is worn 5-10.
