Item description

THE PROSE WORKS OF SIR PHILIP SIDNEY Edited by Albert Feuillerat Cambridge University Press, Four Volumes, 1963 Overall Condition: Near Fine in VG+ dust jackets Sir Philip Sidney (1554-1586) was an English author, courtier and soldier; as a writer, he is best remembered for his innovative poetry snd literary criticism. At the time this set was printed (this is the second printing of the Cambridge edition), Sidney's complete works had been out of print for 50 years. This four-book set contains only his prose works, both fiction and literary criticism (see the 4th illustration for the contents). Only some modestly bent corners on the books. The jacket of Vol. 1 has some edge wear; the others have just a bit and are closer to Near Fine than Very Good. This uncommon set is essential for those interested in Elizabethan literature. Sale priced - reduced 20%. This is by far the lowest price for this set I've seen on the Internet (shipping is included).
