This kit is a PATCH, it is NOT a replacement barrel This is a D.I.Y. repair kit for Thumler's Tumblers 3 lb barreled Tumblers. This kit restores the rubber barrel bottom that typically wears out. The rock tumbler barrel takes a lot of abuse during repeated tumbling operations, while the drum side wall is thick and sturdy, unfortunately the bottom is only about an 1/8 of an inch thick. With the action of the abrasive grit severe damage is done to the barrel. Eventually the bottom or top cover will wear through and cause fluid to leak out, effectively ending the life of the barrel. New barrels run as high as $35.00, this kit will restore the life of the barrel for a fraction of the cost of a new barrel. This kit contains a patch that is not made from the same soft, weak and rapidly deteriorating rubber of the OEM barrel, rather it is made from the same material that manufactures make shoe soles and tires from. This repair kit will ensure long tumbling life not only from a worn out barrel, but can also be used to fortify existing barrels to keep them in like new condition for many years to come.
