A beautiful and rather large banknote from Romania. This is the 18 November 1941, 2000 Lei. This large banknote has a brown, violet and yellow design on the front. The design shows farm women along both sides, the one on the right is nursing a baby, while the one on the left is holding distaff and spinning thread. The front also has a white circle in its center where the watermark resides. The back of the note has the same color scheme as the front except it is a bit darker. It also shows two farm women to the left, an oil refinery to the right and yellow standing lions surrounding arms on top of the central white circle. The note has two signatures on the front as well as the denomination, date and serial number. This particular note has the serial 29456566 which is displayed on top of the central circle. It also appears to be from a series G.1179 which is shown twice on the front. There is also another number (0566) the last three digits of the serial number preceded with a 0, which is displayed twice on the front. None of these numbers are shown on the back of the note. The back is nicely framed in a very decorative design and displays the denomination in the two top corners. The note has a watermark showing the head of Trajan.
