Item description

Crisp, ruby red stems and crumpled, red-veined leaves, makes this a very easy to grow variety and a beautiful addition your salad. Flavor is similar to spinach, but unlike spinach, Swiss chard thrives in warm weather. Delicious lightly steamed, or Mediterranean-style - sauteed in olive oil with a splash of vinegar at the end. Fast-growing leaves look like Rhubarb. Begin harvesting when outer leaves are 6 - 8 inches. Cut off individual leaves near the base of the plant. New leaves will grow back for a continuous harvest until fall frost!. Fertilize after a heavy harvest to encourage new growth. 35 days to harvest for salad greens, 60 days for mature leaves. Absolutely delicious
