Item description

Old silver flatware box well used, holds serving for 8 . You can refinish it, try scratch cover on it or leave as is. It has an age crack on the top right side, and some darkening on the yellow velvet where the forks and spoons go. Because it has a Good Housekeeping Seal in it with a red star and serial number 2231 it is American Made c. 1920, to max 1940 because 1941 the seal was discontinued for a while or changed from the aforementioned format. Hinges are in good condition, not loose and the box closes squarely. Bottom seems to have had black paper glued to it, unless the maker did that originally. If you live in the LA/OC California area you may pickup locally to save on freight, near Long Beach/405 Fwy. Dimensions: 181/4" wide, 12" deep, 4" high This is a great box for a smaller old flatware set that lacks a matching period box. Please send questions, sold as is. Make me an offer!
