We have researched and found it could be a wedding gift (as it does have two hearts inside and is crudely inscribed ?Jimmy Becky 10-7-78?. We also found instance of a similar item with US Quarters being called a baby rattle (and listed for a ridiculous amount of money). We tend to doubt that as it would be rather dangerous for a baby to get anywhere near it, put in their mouth etc. We guess it could have been strung up so the baby could rattle it from underneath. We were also told it could be a traditional Philippines gift given to a new couple perhaps at wedding or engagement. The twelve 25 centavos coins all seems to be dated 1977.
