How does the Weighted Denim Jacket help? Weighted clothing has been shown to help kids and teens cope with sensory overload, focus, attention, regulation, anxiety and more. How much weight should I insert into the pockets? Around 5-10% of the wearer’s body weight is a common standard; never exceed 15%. Each vest comes with 2lb of weight included. Additional vest weights are available on Amazon if the wearer prefers more weight. Is this vest really machine washable? Yes! Make sure to remove the weights from the inner pockets before washing and adhere all closures. Then use a gentle, cold cycle. Dry on low. Use with adult guidance. Never use to cover face or restrict child's movement. User should be able to remove weighted clothing without help. Follow the age and weight guidelines stated on the product insert. Do not allow user to sleep with weighted clothing. Use weighted products with guidance from a therapist. Weights should be carefully and gradually adjusted for each person's needs (10% of total body weight is a common standard. The total should never exceed 10-15% of total body weight regardless of the maximum weight the vest can hold). We usually send out orders the same or next day after receiving payment.
