He is best known for his monumental public sculpture installations, including the Trinity Root, which was executed after 9/11 and placed at St. Paul's Chapel in Lower Manhattan. Over the last forty years, Tobin has mastered highly innovative techniques, applying his knowledge of science to art making. Merging scientific methods with industrial processes and recycled materials, his sculpture works defy time, gravity, and chemistry while channeling the forces of nature. Tobin's sculptures are exhibited in museums across the world from the United States to Europe and Asia. It weighs in at 13, 11 oz lbs and stands 6 inches tall, 9.5 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. We interpret it to be plums or buckeyes inside the shoe - but don?t worry - they are bronze as well! Please note there are felt pads on bottom from previous owner. We have left them as they do provide protection for surfaces.
