Item description

The Theory of Relativity by C. Moller Second Edition The Theory of Relativity C. Moller London: Clarendon Press Oxford Copyright 1972 Second edition The International Series of Monographs on Physics 557 pages The front hinge is weakening, the binding is in acceptable condition and the pages are clean. The dark blue cover has a small tear at the top of the spine. The dust jacket is toned and edge worn, has a tear at the spine top and has stains and rub marks. Good. Hardcover. When the first edition of this book appeared, in 1952, the theory of relativity was generally regarded as an essentially finished subject that did not offer any interesting problems for the active research worker. However, developments have since then aroused fresh interest. New experimental devices have put the theory on a firmer experimental basis, and large numbers of theoretical investigations have clarified the theory itself, so that the physical content of general relativity is now much better understood.
