Item description
• This Copenhagen Museum Reproduction Of Apostle Saint Simon The Zealot Statue measures approximately 8"Tall, 3"Wide and 2.5"Deep.
• This Copenhagen Museum Reproduction Of Apostle Saint Simon The Zealot Statue is made of cold case polyresin, hand painted and polished individually.
• Bertel Thorvaldsen's work and personal gift to the Copenhagen Museum in Denmark showcases the unique features of the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ. The museum also features 'Christus' as the focal point, originally made of Carrara marble. You can find the original masterpieces in life size at the "Christ Hall" at the museum.
• Saint Simon the Apostle, also called Simon the Zealot, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. He preached the Gospel in Egypt and then joined the apostle St. Judas (Thaddaeus) in Persia, where, according to the apocryphal Acts of Simon and Judas, he was martyred by being cut in half with a saw, one of his chief iconographic symbols (another being a book).
