My neighbor purchased this "Reproduction Hershey's Little Puck Cigars - Flor Vanilla Chocolate - A Delicious And Harmless Smoke Hinged Tin Box" while visiting the Hershey Chocolate Company in Lancaster PA USA during 1982. In EXCELLENT Used Condition, the bottom is worn so you can no longer read "copyright 1982 Hershey Food Corp Made in England". In the early-2000's, my neighbor was selling things at flea markets and used a black marker to write her inventory number inside the Tin - See Pictures. Otherwise, there is NO damage and it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Measuring approximately 2 1/2 inches wide, approximately 2 inches tall and approximately 1/2 inch deep, the "crazing" on the lid and bottom is part of the reproduction design. An ADORABLY LOVELY Tin Box, it is IDEAL for display or use. The lid has a highly detailed design, the hinge works smoothly and it closes tightly, making it ideal to hold pills, coins, keys, stash, jewelry or other small items. If I say "chocolate", then you might respond "Hershey." Right? However, if you hear the word "cigar", do you immediately respond "Hershey"? Probably not, but Hershey was attempting to become a household brand for cigars around the turn of the century. During the years 1896-1905, Hershey was in the cigar business. According to Hershey's Trading Card #41, chocolate cigars and cigarettes were a popular part of Hershey Chocolate Company's extensive product line. All the chocolate products produced during this time were sweet chocolate, often flavored with vanilla and advertised as "Vanilla Sweet Chocolate". Milk chocolate would not be introduced by Hershey until 1900. In 1982, Hershey's issued this reproduction tin using the original artwork from the earlier product. The product line slogan was "A delicious and harmless smoke", which is printed on the lid.
