Item description

Vintage Augsburger Dark SS pull tab beer can (bottom opened) was brewed by the Jos. Huber Brewing Company in Monroe, Wisconsin. The brewery was established in 1947 and operated until 1985. The Augsburger brands, including both golden and dark Bavarian-style beers, were originally produced by the Monarch Brewing Co. from 1959 to 1967. The brands then passed to Potosi Brewing Co., then to Huber, and later to Stroh's. Pabst eventually acquired Augsburger, and it is now licensed to Stevens Point Brewery, which produces an all-malt version based on the original recipe. The can has gold trim and a gold "A" on the shield.
