Czechoslovakia has produced wonderful earthenware stoneware pottery, which was quite popular during the 1920's Art Deco era. It's hard to find info on Czech pottery because this country has been caught in the middle of too many wars. This pitcher is marked "Czechoslovakia Handpainted", so it dates between 1920-1993, the only time "Czechoslavakia" was spelled this way. After 1993, the country was split between the 'Czechs' and the 'Slovaks', so the country no longer exists. This pitcher has the distinctive 'milk jug' shape, bright colors, and folk-art quality typical of Czech pottery. It's white with dark yellow and blue stripes. It also has a climbing vine design around the middle, and a geometric border at the top. It measures 5-1/4" tall, 4"x5" from sprout to handle, and holds 3 cups. In very good condition-no chips, but has a few minor scratches. All my items are sanitary and come from my clean, smoke free home.
