Vintage Elephant Squeaker Postcard Japan Novelty Googly Eye Ephemera 1940s to 1950s Printed In Japan Souvenir Post Card Collectibles Animals Wobbly Moving Eye This is a cute vintage squeaker novelty postcard of an elephant that was given as a birthday card. The message on the back reads “Happy Birthday! This was the very best I could do, cause the bus I got on went to the zoo!” It is signed Donna. The card is marked “Printed in Japan” in the square where it is marked “Place Stamp Here”. The elephant has a googly eye that moves. The card is puffy because there is an embedded squeaker between the two layers. When you press on the card, it makes a squeaking noise, the squeaker is fully functional. This was probably from the 1940s to 1950s. The card is in very good vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs.. It is a used card and it does show some slight wear, but there are no tears or bends. The colors are still nice and the elephant is adorable. The googly eye is dented on the top, the eye part still moves around and the plastic in the eye has not split or yellowed. Where the squeaker has been pressed there are tiny creases, which is to be expected, but you don't see them without magnification. This would make a great addition to your collection of squeaker postcards, perfect for any elephant lover.
