UP FOR SALE: The item pictured is a piece of Boles?awiec pottery, specifically an oval serving dish. Boles?awiec pottery, also known as Polish pottery, is stoneware produced in the town of Boles?awiec, Poland.
I believe that this piece is an authentic vintage Polish pottery from Boles?awiec, made by CH (Ceramika Handlowa). The abscence of backstamp and absence of pattern name also suggest this baker is an older, likely pre-1990s piece, which I am in complete agreement with knowing where I purchased it from. It has been well loved and had many meals made and served in it, and now it is ready for your loving home.
Key features of Boles?awiec pottery:
Handmade and hand-painted.
Characterized by a polka dot pattern, often in indigo blue on a white background, but other colors and patterns are also common.
Made from local white clay and fired at high temperatures, making it durable.
Safe for use in ovens, microwaves, freezers, and dishwashers.
Techniques and patterns are passed down through generations of artisans.
It is considered a cultural symbol of Poland and is popular worldwide.
Beautifully aged and full of charm, this 12-inch Polish Pottery Oval Baker is a classic example of traditional Boleslawiec craftsmanship. Featuring a timeless blue and white floral pattern, this stoneware piece is both functional and display-worthy.
This baker has clearly been used and loved over the years?just like any good piece of pottery should be. While the original backstamp is no longer visible due to age and use, the quality and pattern are unmistakably Boleslawiec. It still has plenty of life left and is ready for more meals, memories, or a cozy cottagecore kitchen display.
Condition:
Definite signs of use and wear are consistent with age. Please see all photos for close-ups of condition and detail.
It is a great find for Polish pottery lovers, vintage collectors, or anyone who appreciates a hardworking, beautiful piece of stoneware.
