The cover has some light wear at the corners and edges. The outer spine is very faded and worn. The binding is good, although loosening, and all 896 pages including index are intact. They are yellowed with age, and there are a lot of hand written comments and underlined passages throughout the book, but most are in pencil. This is a wonderful antique textbook, and would be a great study tool for anyone studying literature and Victorian Prose.
