In primitive style with Brass hooks for rope handles
lot x 2 coolers:
Drum #1 is 14" tall
Drum #2 is 9.5" tall
Condition is "Used" in marvelous great shape free of dents or rust. Preserved in a collectors house. Just displayed only. No loss paint. Just light wear is present. Awesome patina. Love the handle hooks seem to be brass made. Rope handles. Estate sale find. This is extremely rare pair of coolers designed by an artist Petra Cabot. They are inspired by the drums of 19c. manufactured by Hamilton-Skotch Corporation, Hamilton, Ohio." (printed inside lid). Petra Cabot(February 21, 1907 October 13, 2006) was an American designer and artist, perhaps best known for styling of the Skotch Kooler for the Hamilton Metal Products Company She was born in Philadelphia.She trained as an artist and worked as a designer, mural painter and in the theatre. She designed dinnerware for Russel Wrightfrom 1938 to 1950. Signed "Petra Cabot" -"The DRUM COOLER" circa 1840. Also reads "inspired by an AMERICAN regimental snare drum of the early 19th century." Designed by "Petra Cabot for Sherry Wine Spirits Co. 679 Madison Ave. New York City. Manufactured by Hamilton Metal Products, Hamilton, Ohio Perfect for decor or a serious collector.
