This is an original WWII U.S. Army wooden footlocker issued in 1943, manufactured by Luce Manufacturing Co. under Quartermaster specification C.Q.D. 61B. This is the real wartime production version, not a postwar replacement. ? Historical Officer-Marked Example The chest is stenciled on one end to GEORGE H. SCHWARTZ ? 1/LT ? O-751042, a U.S. Army First Lieutenant. Named officer footlockers are much harder to find, especially with legible wartime stenciling. ? Original Olive Drab Paint Still retains its original WWII olive drab coating with correct hand-applied stencils, front latch loop, metal reinforced corners, and side compartment inserts inside the trunk.
