This Radio Specialty adapter is used to swap a newer 24-pin Ford 'Phase 2' plug radio (without subwoofer) into your older Ford vehicle with the 16-pin 'World' plug. It makes a newer Ford radio installation plug and play**. Don't cut your factory harness and splice in a different plug. Keep your car wiring intact with our adapter. Most Crown Victoria PPV (police cruiser) radios from 2003-2010 used a 16 pin main plug. Most other Crown Vic radios from those years used a 24 pin main plug. With our adapter you can update your vehicle while still maintaining a factory look. It's a great way to get CD capability and better sound quality!!** (A radio is NOT included.) **This adapter kit does NOT accommodate the subwoofer or remote device options. Most of the CD/Cass and CD6 radios had a subwoofer system paired with them. (Commonly labeled SoundMark, but it may have other names too.) If your radio was intended for the subwoofer system, bass is routed to a separate plug (the small gray 8-pin) that this adapter does not include. (Nor do we make one.) That means bass output in your vehicle will be minimal, or non-existent, unless you obtain a plug for the subwoofer port (from a salvage yard maybe), add RCA plugs, connect them to an amp, and then on to a subwoofer. As a general rule, the single CD radio (without cassette) was not part of a subwoofer system, so the 8-pin plug on those doesn't actually do anything. FYI: the medium sized (16-pin) gray plug on the back of your new radio is for auxiliary (remote devices) interfacing with the radio. (SiriusXM, trunk CD Changer, etc.) So you won't need anything in that plug either. (Unless you plan to add a remote option, in which case connecting it would be entirely up to you.) This adapter does not accommodate the auxiliary/remote device plug. This adapter is made-to-order, so a processing delay of 3-5 business days should be expected. (We solder two harnesses together and shrink-wrap the connections.) SHIPPING Shipping cost is based on weight and zip code. This site does the figuring, not us.
