Vintage original 26.75 x 39.75 in. US single-sided advance one-sheet poster from the popular 2000's action/adventure thriller, XXX, released in 2002 by Columbia Pictures and directed by Rob Cohen. Xander "XXX" Cage (Vin Diesel) is a thrill seeker who, until now, has been deemed untouchable by the law. NSA Agent Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson) forces XXX to cooperate with the government to infiltrate an underground Russian crime ring, and avoid going to prison. Gibbons sends XXX to enter this world of crime undetected where others have failed, using his natural athletic prowess and a whole lot of attitude. Xander must combat an organization led by a clever, ruthless and nihilistic Yorgi (Marton Csokas), whose first target is the city of Prague. The image features a moodily-lit shot of Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) looking down the length of his muscular, tattooed arm at the gun in his right hand with what appears to be the light from flames to to his right. This is one of the single-sided advance posters issued before the film was released in theaters and notes the film's original US general release date of August 6. Unrestored and rolled as originally issued, this vintage original one-sheet is in very fine- condition with light signs of wear on the top left corner and a few very small creases from handling over time. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. xXx was the first film in which Vin Diesel plays the lead role. He performed many of his own stunts. However, according to the DVD commentary, Vin was sick for the Corvette base jump, and pro Tim Rigby performed the stunt wearing a Vin mask. In the DVD extras,Diesel comments that before his three-month preparation for this movie, he'd never ridden a motocross bike and he was trained by the world's top motocross bikers. Stunt player Harry O'Connor was killed when he hit a pillar of the Palacky Bridge in Prague, para-sailing during one of the actions scenes. The accident occured while filming the second take of the stunt; O'Connor's first attempt was completed without incident and can be seen in the completed film.
