Item description

An engraved copper or brass printing block, likely used for printing illustrations. The engraving shows a detailed depiction of a large sailing ship, possibly a clipper or another multi-masted vessel. I cannot read the name of the Manufacturing but the second line reads "Richmond VA". This type of item was commonly used in historical printing processes, such as letterpress or intaglio, to produce prints in books, advertisements, or illustrations. 2.75" x 1.5" x .75" Please see photos for condition. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Stephen
