Item description

Title of painting is “The Surfer” Painted by Ruby Williams Dated 1969 A war elephant was trained and guided by humans for combat. Their main use was to charge the enemy, breaking their ranks and instilling terror. I believe this could depict the fighting elephants of Burmese, check out “Fighting Elephants” on the web. Or also check out Ancient Carthage Elephant Wars. This is not a print, it is an original piece. I believe it is an oil painting, on a piece of black cotton fabric. The frame is broken at corner, yet it is still held together. No glass covering so there may be some dust on the canvas. You can see some water marks on the backer board, it has not affected the painting. Some of the staples holding canvass to the backer board have come loose. Leaving holes near the edges. This could look very nice if it were reframed. Frame measures 18” x 22” outside to outside.
