Look at the feedback on this mushroom popcorn. This is the best mushroom popcorn I know of and I have looked at many. Mushroom popcorn kernels pop round. Use for making kettle corn, caramel corn, or any coating on popcorn as it has few wings so uses less coating. Also, it is a little chewier so your coated popcorn is more satisfying. Red popcorn is very tender and has few hulls. It is a favorite of my farmer's market customers. It is not a mushroom popcorn, but pops "butterfly" or open. Look at the photo comparing traditional yellow butterfly popcorn with the red and mushroom popcorn. 50 grams of mushroom kernels will pop into about 5 cups of popcorn. To make popcorn like in the theater, in a 2 quart covered sauce pan add 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil, 1/2 tablespoon of butter, 1/4 teaspoon of popcorn seasoning and 2 kernels. Shake well...it is very important that each kernel is fully coated with the oil. It is also important to high heat. On our gas stove we use #7. Once the 2 kernels pop, then add about 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels and shake every 15 seconds. Once they start popping, you heat should be high enough so all of the kernels are popped in less than 1 minute. This will reduce old maids and also produce round mushroom popcorn. Popcorn seasoning is sold only with 3 or 8 pounds of kernels. Our popcorn seasoning is similar to what is used in theaters Ingredients: salt, artificial flavor, FD C Yellow #5 Lake (E102), FD C Yellow #6 Lake (E110).
