Grandpa Grandma McDowell An original drawing by Floyd McDowell dated 1988. It looks like it could be pencil drawing, it does have light flesh tone color on the face and hands of each person. The drawing is titled "Grandma Grandpa McDowell, Sunday, August 28, 1933, Jacksboro, Texas. " However, I removed the item from the frame and took a peak under the matte, and found the same information written below the drawing, only it also said "by Floyd McDowell, September 1, 1988." The drawing must have been copied from an old photograph The matte has a couple of light black spots, possibly from artists' hands. The cardboard backing has a water stain, but it did not soak through to the picture or the matting. The matte is glued to the cardboard backing. It was just loose enough for me to peer inside and see the hand writing at the bottom, below the drawing. This is a real wood frame, with many small nicks around the edges. It is very solid at the corners. Outside to outside measurements of the frame is 13 1/2 inches wide by 16 3/4 inches tall.
