Item description
This is an early 1900s apothecary jar embossed, "3 oz Fluid" on the front and marked with an encircled "5" on the bottom. The vintage, cork topped medicine bottle (cork is missing) has many air pockets and bubbles from long term exposure. The seam all the way to the top along with other features indicates it was likely produced between1900 1920. It was the type of bottle used by druggist and pharmacists in the early part of the 20th century to dispense medicine. My father, an avid bottle digger, discovered the bottle more than 40 years ago in the ruins of an old plantation in Virginia. The bottle is in wonderful condition, free from breaks or cracks. Clarity is very nice. Air bubbles and pockets are exhibited in multiple spots. (See photos.) The bottle measures about 5" all, 2" wide and 1.25" deep.
