Este elegante medallon es una reedicion moderna que rinde homenaje a las iconicas monedas de Efeso, una de las ciudades mas importantes de la antigua Jonia, famosa por su Templo de Artemisa, una de las Siete Maravillas del Mundo Antiguo. El anverso presenta un majestuoso ciervo, arrodillado junto a una palmera datilera estilizada, con la inscripcion griega "?????????" (Demagoras), posiblemente haciendo referencia a un magistrado o autoridad emisora. El ciervo, sagrado para Artemisa, enfatiza la identidad religiosa de la ciudad y su profunda reverencia por la naturaleza y la vida silvestre, mientras que la palmera alude a la fertilidad de la region y al simbolismo de culto asociado con los bosques divinos. El reverso presenta una abeja meticulosamente representada, flanqueada por las letras griegas "?" y "?", que significa Efeso. " En las antiguas monedas de Efeso, la abeja servía no solo como un emblema cívico sino tambien como un símbolo sagrado de Artemisa Efesia, cuyas sacerdotisas eran conocidas como "melissae" (abejas). La composicion simetrica, casi geometrica, rodeada por un borde con cuentas, muestra la precision artística del diseño numismatico clasico.
