Item description
Vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card, fine+ condition.
The silent film melodrama SHIP OF SOULS, released in 1925 by Associated Exhibitors Inc. and directed by Charles Miller, was based upon the western novel by Emerson Hough. The film co-stars Lillian Rich and Bert Lytell in a story about bigamy and divorce which is set in Canada. The story was written by the famed author Emerson Hough, who wrote The Covered Wagon, which was released by Paramount in 1923. The image features a close shot of Christine Garth (Lillian Rich) seated on the lap of her father, Angus (Russell Simpson), as the two share a happy moment together. The scene takes places inside a rustic log cabin in the Canadian North Country.
It is unrestored and in fine+ condition with a 1 in. diagonal crease on the top left corner in the borders only; a 0.25 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner with a 1.25 in. area of wear along the edge of the top border to the left of the crease; a 0.25 in. diagonal crease on the bottom right corner; one pinhole in the center of the bottom border near the bottom edge; a 0.25 in. and a 0.75 in. diagonal crease on the bottom left corner; and one pinhole in the center of the left border just outside the image area. The color tinting is fresh and vibrant with a beautiful shade of deep red.
According to a blurb on IMBd, this film was shot in Hollywood in a single-strip stereoscopic (3D) process developed by producer Max O. Miller and released on December 20, 1925.
