Item description
Vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card from the silent film western comedy STRAIGHT FROM THE SHOULDER, released in 1921 by the Fox Film Corporation and directed by Bernard J. Durning. Bill Higgins (Norman Selby) arrives in a small western mining town and immediately
causes trouble with the residents. He gets into a fight with Buck (Buck Jones) and is
injured. Buck nurses him back to health and discovers that Higgins, a resident
of nearby Peaceful Valley, has been thrown out of his house by his wife because
of his excessive drinking. Buck travels to Peaceful Valley to try to get Bill's
wife to take him back but he runs into a lot more trouble than he was counting
on.
This western comedy lobby card features an interior medium shot of Buck (Buck Jones) leaning on the bar inside a saloon talking to the bartender as another customer watches him from the other end of the bar. It is in near-fine condition with a 3 in. vertical crease in the bottom of the right border that run along the outer edge of the image (making somewhat difficult to see) that meets with a 1.75 in. diagonal crease above it; 4 pinholes in the center of the top border that have been covered on the verso by a piece of yellowed tape; a light 3 in. horizontal crease in the upper image area beneath the top border; light signs of wear on the top right corner with some light smudging in the top border at the right corner; several creases of varying sizes on the bottom right corner which go into the background area with a 2 in. vertical crease in the lower right background and credits area; and light signs of wear on the bottom left corner.
